The Martinsburg Bulldog Classic was held on a beautiful and sunny day in July at Cress Creek Country Club in Sheperdstown, West Virginia. Kent Parsons Ford was a proud sponsor of the event, which is held every year to benefit the Martinsburg High School football team.
Teeing-off first that day was Joe Hronesz. “I’ve been playing golf since I was very young,” the 34-year-old said. “Probably close to 30 years.”
As a member of Cress Creek Country Club, Hronesz has played the course many times. Despite his familiarity with the green, he was not expecting anything other than a beautiful day on the golf course. “The weather and course conditions were perfect that day. It was a sunny morning, not too hot. I was excited to enjoy the day.”

Coming up to the 6th Hole, Hronesz set up as he always did. “That hole is always a struggle for me. That day the pin was tucked 172 yards in the back of the green right behind the bunker – a very narrow spot. I’ve never made a hole in one before, but I’ve witnessed one in the past.”
Kent Parsons Ford, who sponsored the hole with a brand new Ford Fiesta, was just as excited. “This was the first time we’ve ever had a hole in one winner,” said Ryan Byrd, Sales Manager at Kent Parsons Ford. “It was a great experience all the way around. We put the order in over the phone and you guys handled everything effortlessly. I only wish we would have advertised the event more on our end because afterwards, we got a lot of foot traffic in the store inquiring about the sponsorship from other people who were on the course that day. But that’s not your fault; you guys handled everything great!”
Likewise, Joe was a very happy winner and shared in Ryan’s gratitude for a smooth redemption process. “I really appreciate how quickly the process was in awarding the prize, and reaching out after I received it,” Joe told us.
The entire team at J. Ryder Group / Ford Hole in One Program is always excited when our dealers have winners, but we’re especially happy to be part of Kent Parsons Ford ‘first time’ hole in one giveaway… to a ‘first time’ hole in one winner! Congratulations to Joe and the good folks at Kent Parson Ford!
