It’s a good day when you can golf in October in New York. What made it a fantastic day was James Lillis’ hole in one to win a two-year lease on a brand new Ford Escape!
The sun was shining, and James Lillis and friends were golfing (as they have for many years) at Putnam County Golf Course in a tournament to benefit St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Having played golf for over 45 years, he was anticipating a great event for a great cause. Lillis mentions, “this tournament has always been top-notch, and my friends and I look forward to playing every year.”
Lillis knows the difficulty of hole 3, which is where the shiny new Ford Escape sponsored by Park Ford of Mahopac was sitting, waiting to be won. He was the first one to tee off in his group and remembers, “I hit a good shot. It took a little bounce, but next thing I knew, it was in the hole, and everyone was going nuts.”
Having sponsored the event every year for over a decade, the folks at Park Ford of Mahopac were almost as excited as Lillis was about his hole in one win. Lillis says, “I have gotten it close a few times on this hole, but I have never gotten a hole in one in all my years of golfing.” What a great first time for a hole in one win!
Lillis recounts that “Rich, Nick and Anthony could not have been nicer to deal with and were so helpful. I love driving my new Escape and the guys [at Park Ford of Mahopac] were great from start to finish.” The team at J.
