One warm Saturday, the Pawtucket Country Cub held it’s Annual Ozzie Koolian Member-Guest Golf Outing. Being their biggest outing of the year, they sought out a hole in one prize sponsorship from Flood Ford Lincoln, who put up a 2-year lease for a brand-new Lincoln MKZ on hole number 7. This outing is looked forward to each year by many folks in the area, especially our winner, Paul Treanor and his friends from Pawtucket.

A former caddy at the golf course, Paul has been golfing at Pawtucket Country Club “for as long as I could walk,” he said. He moved away from the area for about forty years, but still golfed in the tournament every year until he eventually moved back to Rhode Island. He said, “It’s always a great weekend of golf, but this one was fantastic” for obvious reasons. His shot on the 7th hole was the highlight of the weekend and definitely a day he’ll never forget.

The 7th hole is always a tough par 3 because of its unique layout with the flag on the front of the green, right behind a large sand bunker. Paul strategically shot the ball high with his 7 iron, to try and land behind the bunker and near the hole, which worked flawlessly. The ball bounced twice and dropped right in. This was Paul’s 3rd hole in one, but the first time ever winning anything because of it. He was ecstatic to win a 2-year lease for a brand-new Lincoln MKZ. Paul Treanor continued to explain, “I am a 74-year-old, lifelong golfer. I don’t like to admit it, but I don’t golf like I use to, but I still carry a 10 handicap. So, I guess it was good enough that day.” No one disagreed with him as he walked away with a new car.

Paul loves his MKZ and spoke very highly of the dealership, specifically Tim Whitford. “Flood Ford Lincoln was great to work with, and the entire process hassle-free for me.” Overall, Paul was impressed with the entire Hole in One prize process and can’t wait for next year’s golf outing. The team at J. Ryder Group / Ford Lincoln Hole in One Program could not be happier for Paul and the great folks at Flood Ford Lincoln.
